High Efficiency Air Cleaner
Does the air in your home "bother" you?
NOW there is something you can do about it!
Electro Breeze air cleaner will turn your
home's heating and air conditioning system into a HIGH EFFICIENCY
central air cleaning system.
Electro Breeze Polarized Air
Cleaners easily traps:
• COMMON HOUSE DUST
• HOUSEHOLD ODORS
• ALLERGENS
• MOLD SPORES
• POLLENS
• DUST MITES
• EXHAUST FUMES
• SECOND HAND SMOKE
• BACTERIA |
A ccording to the Environmental Protection
Agency, the air we breathe indoors is seven times more
polluted than outdoor air even in urban areas. There are
20 million particles in the average cubic foot of air,
and many of these are the causes of allergies and hypersensitive
reactions. Pollutants such as pollen and exhaust smoke
come in from outside. A host of others are generated inside:
cooking odors, second hand tobacco smoke, furnace gasses,
fine dust from vacuum cleaners, paint dust, pet hairs and
dander, cleaning product vapors, carpet fibers, molds,
bacteria, and viruses. Just about everything we do indoors
affects the quality of the air we breathe.
T he most dangerous and more numerous
of these allergy causing pollutants are the very smallest
particles unseen to the naked eye. It is these particles
that are behind the EPA's recent push to tighten air quality
standards. Airborne particles are measured in microns.
A micron is one 25,000th of an inch; a human hair is about
150 microns; the smallest thing that we can see is about
10 microns. As any allergy-sufferer will tell you, what
you can't see will hurt you!. In fact, 97% of the particles
in a cubic foot of air are smaller than 1 micron. That's
about 20 million particles per cubic foot of air! It is
these sub-micron particles that stay suspended for days,
where you and your family can inhale them. They then can
get by the defenses of the respiratory system and go deep
into the lungs, where they can cause a variety of health
problems. They are also able to go right through most filters
in homes, even those that advertise high-efficiency.
The Electro Breeze Air Cleaner
is the most effective air cleaner we have seen for improving
the air you breathe in your home.
Electro
Breeze air cleaners were extensively tested by Life Resource,
independent laboratory.
Electro Breeze Air Cleaners are:
- EFFICIENT - Electro
Breeze cleaners will take the most harmful particles
out of the air; the very smallest ones. They will remove
97% of particles above 0.3 microns in size - and will
make the particles that are smaller than that group into
bigger clusters. Further, the activated carbon center
of the disposable air cleaner pad will absorb many odors
and gases.
- UNIQUE - Electro
Breeze cleaners use safe low voltage (24v) electricity
to create a strong static electric field across the disposable
air cleaner pad. Through the power of electrostatic polarization,
the air cleaner then attracts pollution particles - even
the tiniest ones - like a magnet collects paper clips.
The active field on the media allows Electro Breeze to
actually increase in efficiency as they load.
- PROVEN - Over several
years Electro Breeze Air Cleaners have proven themselves
worldwide in hospitals, restaurants, bars, manufacturing
plants, office buildings, and tens of thousands of homes.
- HEALTHY - Most air filters are there
to protect the equipment. By capturing sub-micron particles,
Electro Breeze air cleaners will help protect something
far more important: the health of your family. In
addition to being a healthier environment, your home will
also be cleaner and easier to maintain.
- SIMPLE - Electro
Breeze Air Cleaners fit right in where your existing
filter is, and are wired into your heating system, or
plug into a 1 10v wall outlet. If you have a heating/cooling
system with no filter rack we can help you find a place
for a Electro Breeze Air Cleaner - just call.
- MAINTENANCE - just
unplug the air cleaner, slide it out and replace the
center media pad. No messy cleaning process, no expensive
new filter to buy, your entire system will run more efficiently.
Replacing the pad takes only a couple of minutes generally,
three or four times a year depending on the air quality
where you live.
- ECONOMICAL - Electro
Breeze air cleaners cost just pennies per month to operate.
Further, by keeping your ducts and heating and cooling
equipment cleaner, your entire system will run more efficiently.
Replacement pads cost about $5.00 a month for a year's
supply.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I establish the correct size for my furnace?
Pull your filter out of your furnace or
air handler, the size will be written on the side. If your
filter is media only and does not indicate the size, measure
the media. If you have a filter that is wrapped around the
bottom of the furnace please call for instructions.
Why not buy one of the filters at my local hardware store?
They are very inefficient against the most numerous
and smaller particles in the air, generally well below 5 microns in size. Its
the sub-micron (those less than 1 micron) particles that are the cause of damage
to your health. The EPA says indoor air is 7 times more polluted than outdoor
air even in our cities. The Electro Breeze Air Cleaner
has been proven to collect 97% at 0.3 micron particles and larger from the air
you breathe - that's high efficiency!
What is a "micron" ?
A micron is 1/25,000th of an inch. The human hair is approximately 150 microns.
Indoor pollutants are generally below 0.3 microns. This is where a vast majority
of the particles in the air are to be found. An increasing number of studies
are finding these smaller particles to be a significant health
hazard. As any allergy sufferer will tell you, what you don't see does hurt you!
To effectively clean air, the sub-micron particles must be removed.
Electro Breeze Air Cleaners will remove up to 98% of these particles on a multiple
pass basis. For example, when Efficency Chart lab
in a test hours, after just ten hours of operation, we were able to remover
97% of the particles between .3 and.5 microns and 99% of the particles .5 microns
or larger. And our efficiency actually increases as the filter pad loads with
pollutants! This is why the Electro Breeze Air Cleaner is referred to as a
high efficiency air cleaner - it isn't just "talk" - it's fact.
Does this filter create a 'snapping' sound, does it create ozone?
This is a unique patented non-ionizing filter that creates no poisonous ozone
or 'snapping' noises (noises generated when unwanted ozone is being produced)
when it is working. It works by assigning polarity to all the particles in
the air as well as the special patented fiberglass media in the filter. These
millions of particles themselves then act like small magnets inside the filter
and they cling to each other then cling to the media in the filter. Just as
paper clips on a magnet attract other paper clips, the dirt collected by these
filters becomes part of the collecting surface, giving the filter increasing
efficiency as it loads with contaminants removed from the air.
I have an ionization type electronic air cleaner and noticed dust on
my TV and computer screen. What causes this to happen?
Electronic air cleaners to date have been "ionizing" type air cleaners that
positively charge all the particles in the air. In theory they will then
collect to the negatively (or grounded) collector plates. The problem is that
when the plates become dirty (usually within only a couple of hours) the positively
charged finer particles slip past the plates. These particles still carry a positive
electrical charge and will then cling to grounded surfaces in the house such
as TV screens or things metallic. The Electro Breeze filter is unique and unlike
all other filters you may have had. It does not produce charged
particles that when not captured by the filter cling to grounded surfaces in
the house.
Can I convert my old electronic ionized air cleaner, and install a High
Efficiency Electro Breeze Air Cleaner?
Yes. The Electro Breeze Air Cleaner can fit right into where the two main cells
are located. A 'spacer' will have to be installed so as to make the filter
track 1” wide instead of 4”. This application should take a 20" x 25" or 16" x 25" filter,
to check this, measure the size of the two cells side by side.
Is the Electro Breeze Air Cleaner expensive to install?
In most cases this filter will install in the same filter track that your existing
filter is installed. In those cases where an odd size filter is currently installed
it may require a filter track to be installed. The cost from most contractors
for this filter track would be $ 50. The filter can be plugged into a standard
115v outlet or can be wired into the 24v system in your furnace or air handler.
Is the replacement media expensive?
Who can put a value on good health? It's only about $ 5 per month to insure clean,
fresh, safe, healthy air in your home year round. HEPA filter replacements by
comparison, can cost several hundred dollars. Conventional electronic ionized
air cleaners have a high failure rate on the power heads which cost several hundred
dollars to repair and are not as efficient. If electronic air cleaners come equipped
with carbon panels for odor control these panels usually cost around $80 and
need to be replaced at least twice per year. Also, electronic air cleaners must
be cleaned thoroughly at least once per month, then they should be chemically
stripped at least once per year. Chemical stripping usually cost at least $50.

What maintenance is involved,
and how often must it be done?
This varies by house but generally the media will last two to four months. We
recommend replacing the media a minimum of 3 times per year. Simply turn off
the power to your heating/cooling system, pull out the filter open the hinges,
install a new media pad and throw the old media away. We do also recommend you
check your filter each month and if the screen appears dusty, turn the power
off and dust off the face of the filter with a cloth, broom or hand vacuum. How long has this Air Cleaner been around ?
This Air Cleaner has been manufactured
for over 15 years and used extensively in Canada, United
States, Europe. It has been tested and used in many "clean room" applications,
hospitals, doctors offices, office towers, casinos, bingo
halls and is now being made available to clean the air that
is most important to you - the air that you and your family
breathe.
How often should we operate the Air Cleaner?
We recommend, for maximum effectiveness of air filtration,
that your thermostat be turned to the fan "on" position rather than fan "auto".
This allows for continuous air filtration . This Air Cleaner
will always work to keep the heating equipment clean when
the fan comes on. In the intermediate heating and cooling
seasons, your heating and air conditioning won't come on
very often therefore you won't filter the air very often
unless you keep the fan on. This takes only a small amount
of electricity and makes for a significant difference in
the air quality in your home. It will also reduce the amount
of dusting that should be required around the home.
Can I use any media?
This Air Cleaner will not work with standard media. The manufacturer has a patented
process for producing this filter media with an activated charcoal center section
that not only absorbs the odors but also conducts the electrical charge through
the center of the media. Use of any other media will void warranty and may seriously
damage the filter electronics.
